On Oct 18, 2017, took place a delightful evening to appreciate Ryszard and his long-time contribution to music and Polonia in Canada. Ryszard is a very accomplished musician and composer,  both in Poland and in Canada. His recent concert with Monica Sowinski and Friends called 'Beautiful and Free' marked the 150th anniversary of Canada. We are happy to congratulate Ryszard on his songs, 2 of which were selected to be the official songs for Canada's 150th birthday. 

 

The evening in Rodos Taverna was organized by Mr. Jan Sowinski, known for his passion for music, and also for his involvement in launching a career of his classical singer daughter Monica. 

This time we celebrated Ryszard but also had a privilege to meet young and talented pianist from Poland, Mr. Lukasz Mikolajczyk.  Lukasz is very excited about his advance diploma studies he has just started in Vancouver Academy of Music. 

 

In his short time here he is already an accomplished pianist, and recent winner of the Vancouver International Music Competition with a final competition at UBC and gala concert that took place in Chan Centre.

We had an opportunity to listen to him playing his mastered pieces during the dinner. What a treat!
