Exhibition 'For Our Freedom and Yours' in Vancouver

Canadian Polish Congress BC sharing with our guests the history of the sacrifice of Polish soldiers  in the battle of Monte Casino in Italy in 1944.

Polish Canadians  were  able to share a piece of history that is very, very special to Polish People. We always were and still are today,  extremely proud of the patriotic and heroic fight of Polish soldiers on the hills of Monte Casino, Italy in May 1944.

Monte Casino,  with its monastery was considered a bastion, the piece of Nazi Resistance that was so crucial yet so difficult to conquer during the WWII. Every year Polish combatants, their families and all Polish people commemorate the Anniversary of this battle.

Every year we remind ourselves and younger generations, that freedom comes with a huge expense of lost lives, and this is why, the peace around the world and freedom are so priceless. Especially to us who paid extreme price as a nation during the WWII.

On February 9th 2017 Canadian Polish Congress BC Branch invited special guests and Polonia leadership for the oficial opening of the exhibition 'For Our Fridom and Yours'.  Amongst distinguished guests were Consul of Poland in Vancovuer M. Trcinski, Consul General of Italy M. Iacchini, Consul of Ukraine for BC L. Huculak, Acting Mayor of Vancouver Councillor R. Lauie , Councillor Andrea Reimer.  Representing Airforce Association R.
