Polish Festival in North Vancouver - organized by North Shore Polish Association 'Belweder'
Third Annual Polish Festival in beautiful North Vancouver gathered large crowds of general public as well as many members of Polish Canadian Community. Organized by Belweder North Shore Polish Association, congratulations to organizers, and thanks to all participating artists and performers.
Everyone enjoyed good weather and beautiful entertainment provided by Polish Folk dance group from Calgary 'Polanie' , String Quintet 'Autumn Leaves', Group Himalayan and Vocal Group Akord.
In addition we had many individual performing artists: G. Kapuscinska, K. Adamski, E. Miskiewicz. J. Krylowska, A. Cichecka, family folk dancers Piort, Anna, Joanna Pater , The Pater family formerly members of 'Lublin' dance group in Wellington New Zeland, came to Canada and here are continuing their passion for Polish culture.
Second day of the festival was all about the youngest membres of community. Here we had King Matt's Theatre ( children's theatre existing under the umbrella of Vancouver Polish Theatre ) and Jester Pupped Theatre presenting their programs for kids. As we see on the pictures below the plays were received with great appreciation by viewers of all ages.
The 2 day event this year started with photo-exhibition documenting Polish athletic traditions and international success. Very interesting pictures from the beginning of the 20 th century generated lots of interest and memories. Special guests included Andrew Saxton, Conservative Party Candidate to Parliament for North Vancouver, Krzysztof Olendzki , Consul General RP in Vancouver, Iwona Swiatczak, President of Canadian Polish Congress BC, and media representatives E. Kozar 'Gazeta Informacyjna', A. Manuski 'Takie Zycie'.
